If the website I am looking to create does not fall under the category of writer, artist, or small business, can I still contact you about your services?
Absolutely! While designing websites and providing online marketing services to writers, artists, and small businesses is what we consider to be our specialty, we will gladly provide our services to those who do not fall under a specific category.

When choosing your services, is it mandatory to have my domain name and hosting setup through your company?
Not at all. If there is a company you would prefer to purchase your domain and hosting from, or if you have already purchased a domain and hosting account, simply send us the login information the company has provided to you, and we will setup your website from there.

I already have a website designed; can I contact your company to complete my updates?
If you are not satisfied with your current web designer, we will gladly take over your website and complete your future updates.

How do you charge for maintenance?
We only charge clients on a per-update basis; we do not charge a flat monthly rate, as maintenance varies depending on the website. During months where you have not sent updates to be completed, you will not receive an invoice—simple as that.

After setting up an online brand and marketing campaign, do you provide maintenance services for the campaign after it has launched?
Unfortunately, this is a service we have had to discontinue. While it is a service we truly enjoyed providing, the service was interfering in a very negative way with completing our new design projects and maintenance work; it was impossible to keep up with both. We now help writers, artists and small businesses setup their brand, and provide consultations to solidify their online marketing strategy. From there, they can either complete the online marketing on their own (we are available for any questions or suggestions along the way), or hire someone on a freelance basis (we can provide all technical information necessary to the individual hired).

My web designer is out of town, and I need updates completed. Can I contact your company to complete my updates while he/she is away?
You do not need to be a regular client of Just Joan Marketing Services for us to complete updates for you. Simply send us the time frame we will be completing updates for you, along with your website's login information, and we will keep your website up-to-date while your designer is away.

Do you also provide computer-related technical support?
It is a common misconception that website designers are also knowledgeable in the area of IT support, and there are several website design companies that also offer computer repairs and technical support as part of their services. Just Joan Marketing Services does not offer computer-related technical support, however will gladly assist in researching computer repair companies in your area that you can contact for assistance.

What is the best way to contact you?
Through e-mail is the best way to contact me for initial consultations and general website updates. I tend to work in the evening, as opposed to a standard 9am-5pm day, for two reasons: 1) I feel at my highest energy level at night, and am a firm believer of working on creative projects when I am at my most focused and alert; 2) I have clients that are all over the world, living in various time zones, so I would not want my 9am-5pm schedule to interfere with what they want to accomplish, and feel this is the best way for me to give all of my clients an equal amount of attention.

I do understand that some items on the agenda are easier to discuss by phone, however, and so I plan phone consultations accordingly with my clients when the need arises.

Why did you name your business Just Joan, when your name is Krissy?
My ultimate career goal is to become a full-time screenwriter, and all forms of writing have been a passion of mine throughout my life. Growing up, I was a big fan of the movies Romancing The Stone, and The Jewel of the Nile, where romance novelist Joan Wilder goes on crazy adventures that to this day I would be too chicken to go on myself. In The Jewel of the Nile, Joan meets a man who turns out to be the "jewel" of his people. When he asks her what her name is, she replies, "It's just Joan," not revealing her last name. Being that he isn't fluent in English, he calls her "Just Joan" throughout the rest of the movie, as if that's her name. It was always a very witty play on words that stuck with me, so when I was planning my business, the business name I was going to choose was a no-brainer.
